St. Ludmila Parish has benefitted throughout the years from the generous support of individuals who attend mass on a regular basis and those who have remembered us in their estate planning. St Ludmila's Parish has established an endowment account and a trust account with The Catholic Foundation in the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Since their inception, both accounts are able to be added to whenever needed.
What is the St. Ludmila Trust?
This is a fund that is similar to a Certificate of Deposit in your local financial institution; the difference being it has a 10 year maturity date. During the inception of this tool St. Ludmila will receive interest distributions on a yearly basis. At the end of the 10 year period, 100% of the remaining funds will return to St. Ludmila Parish to be used as needed.
What is the St. Ludmila Endowment?
An endowment is an instrument that prepares for the future financial security of St. Ludmila Parish. The monies invested remain with the endowment for eternity. The interest from these funds can be withdrawn yearly for the use of St. Ludmila's Parish. The benefit of an endowment is the corpus of the money invested can never be removed or used, only the interest from these funds can be used by the church.
Both of these funds are invested through CFAD in the market. There is some fluctuation as is common with the market, however the long term goal is to provide a solid financial foundation for future generations of St. Ludmila Parish.
